Highland Community College is set to host a high school football jamboree between six Northeast Kansas high schools on Friday, August 30th at Porter Family Stadium.
The Kansas High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) voted last April to allow preseason high school football scrimmages in the form of jamborees starting in the 2019-20 school year.
The College will host the three area Doniphan County high schools of Troy, Doniphan West and Riverside along with Rossville, Valley Falls and Wetmore for a night of football on Friday, August 30th as all six teams will take part in the jamboree.
Troy, Riverside and Rossville will compete against each other in 11-man scrimmage action, while Doniphan West along with Wetmore and Valley Falls will compete in an 8-man scrimmage. Each jamboree will be going on simultaneously with 11-Man action on one side of the field and 8-Man action on the other side at Porter Family Stadium.
The jamboree will consist of 36 offensive plays for each team split against the two other teams they are competing with. Full list KSHSAA rules and regulations for football preseason jamborees see link above.
Jamboree will be free to attend to the public with donations being accepted for
Kaden's Kloset in Troy.
Kaden's Kloset is a 100% volunteer and donation run not-for-profit organization that exists to provide services and necessities for foster and adoptive children and families, and children in need within our communities and beyond. For more information and a list of donation items requested
