Zakarias Philipo has been named 'Scottie Athlete of the Week' after a great performance at the Region VI Indoor Championship meet this past weekend.

Philipo is now a two-time conference champion this Indoor season with 1st place finishes in the 5000m and 3000m runs. In the 3000m, Philipo broke the school record (held by himself) by 13 seconds finishing with a time of 8:47.72.

He will be traveling to Lubbock, TX with his teammates to compete at the National Meet on March 1-3.
