Zekarias Philipo has been named 'Scottie Athlete of the Week' after a great performance at the William Jewell College - Darrel Gourley Challenge. Philipo broke a 26 year old Highland Outdoor Track & Field school record in the 1,500m run. He ran a 4:05.56 to place 4th at the meet.

Philipo also participated the next day at the KT Woodman Meet-Distance Carnival in Wichita, KS. He qualified for the National Meet in the 3000m Steeplechase  placing 5th with a time of 9:54.98.
