Lee Sexton earns “Scottie Athlete of the Week” honors after helping the Scotties to a 5-0 week last week improving the team’s record to 19-2 on the season with a nine match win streak.
 
Sexton was a looming presence upfront for the Scotties at the KCKCC Tournament recording a pair of double figure kill performances. The freshman outside hitter opened the tournament with a 15 kill performance in a four set win over MCC adding three digs and three blocks. She tallied double figure kills sixth time this season in the five set win over Waubonsee notching 13 kills and added five blocks and a dig. In the wins over Neosho County and Ottawa JV Sexton recorded eight and five kills, respectively. For the tournament Sexton notched 41 kills, seven digs and nine blocks. Also the Scotties picked up a KJCCC win on the road at Labette last week and Lee had six kills and two blocks in the contest.
 
On the year the freshman has 169 kills which is third on the team posting a .252 hitting percentage and has 21 digs and 34 blocks. Her top performance came against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M early this season at the Highland Tournament when she tallied 18 kills in the win.
