Reco Hannah earns “Scottie Athlete of the Week” honors after helping the Highland football team improve to 4-1 on the season with a 21-18 road win over Iowa Central.
The Highland defense forced a pair of turnovers, seven sacks and held Iowa Central to under 300 yards of total offense including just 79 yards rushing. Hannah had a strong game leading the team in tackles with 15 and 3.5 sacks of the team’s seven sacks on the day. His 3.5 sacks tie his own performance against Iowa Central in 2017 for second most in a single game in Highland history. Hannah now ranks 14th all-time in school history in tackles in his career with 109 and needs just 14 more to crack the Top 10.
On the season Hannah leads the team in tackles, sacks and tackles for loss with 46, 3.5 and 11.5, respectively. He ranks second in the KJCCC in total tackles, third in tackles per game (9.2) and sacks. In the Nation the sophomore linebacker is tied for 13th in tackles per game, 16th in total tackles and tied for 18th in sacks.
