Myla Turner earns “Scottie Athlete of the Week” honors after helping the Highland volleyball team go 6-0 last week to improve to 28-2 on the year and move their school record win streak to 18-straight matches.

Turner and the Scotties opened the week beating Bethany College JV and Iowa Lakes CC both in three-straight sets to tie the school’s longest win streak at 14-straight matches. Turner notched 18 and 15 digs respectively in the matches to lead the way for the Scottie defense.

Highland then played at the DMACC Tournament over the weekend were they went 4-0 in tournament play for the fourth time this season beating two teams for the second time this season and picking up a win over #19 DMACC and NJCAA DIII #6 team Rochester Community & Tech College. Turner at the libero spot racked up 66 digs and seven aces in the tournament’s four matches. She notched her sixth 20+ dig performance when she recorded 26 digs against DMACC in a thrilling comeback five set win for the Scotties to wrap up the tournament. She also have five aces a career high for a match at the Tournament that coming against Waubonsee.

On the season Turner leads the team in digs with 471 averaging 4.36 digs per set, while she has 27 aces (second most on the team), 15 assists and three kills playing in all 30 matches. She ranks second in total digs and fifth in digs per set in the KJCCC and she is tied for 14^th in the Nation in digs.
