Kevin Brown earns “Scottie Athlete of the Week” honors after posting his best rushing game of his college career for Highland against #2 Garden City on the road.

While the Scotties fell in a tough 51-31 battle on the road to Garden City Brown led the way for the Highland offense with 211 yards rushing on 22 carries with a 73-yard touchdown. Brown averaged 9.6 yards per carry on the day including his 73-yard touchdown that gave the Scotties a 10-6 lead at the time in the first quarter. The sophomore’s performance was his third 100+ yard game of his career and first 200+ yard contest.

On the year Brown has ran for 710 yards on 102 carries with four touchdowns, rushing for 101.4 yards per game while adding 12 receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown. He ranks third in the KJCCC in rushing yards per game and yard per carry (7.0), while also ranking fourth in total rush yards. Brown checks in 13^th in the Nation in rushing yards per game and is one of only 14 players in NJCAA that averages over 100 yards rushing per game this season. His seven yards per carry average ranks 12^th in the Nation and his 710 yards rushing ranks 16^th in the Nation.
