Kirsten Johnson earns “Scottie Athlete of the Week” honors after helping the Scottie volleyball team to a pair of wins last week over Neosho County and Indian Hills extending the teams school record winning streak to 23-straight matches.

Johnson put together one of her best performances this season in a five set win over Neosho County a match in which Kirsten recorded 13 digs for her seventh double figure dig showing this season. She added a pair of assists in the win, also. On the road against Indian Hills Johnson tallied nine digs and two assists helping the Scotties cruise past Indian Hills in three sets.

On the season Johnson has 245 digs, 13 aces, 31 assists and two kills helping the Scotties to a 33-2 record. She finished last year with 607 digs her freshman season which is second most in a single season in school history, while adding her digs from her sophomore year Johnson ranks second in career digs in Highland history.
