Stefania Chiziane earns “Scottie Athlete of the Week” honors after helping the #3 Highland Women’s basketball team to two wins at the Ambassador Classic in Colby, Kansas.
After an adjustment to the schedule late in the week Highland headed to Colby for a pair of games and picked up a 116-59 win over McPherson JV and also a 70-56 win over Colby CC to improve to 5-0 this season. Helping lead the charge in both wins was sophomore, Stefania Chiziane as she was one of six Scotties to register double figures in the win over McPherson scoring 19 points and filling the stat sheet in many other ways finishing with seven assists, six steals and three rebounds. Chiziane followed that up with a 20 point performance against Colby in a 70-56 win. She was 6-9 from the free throw line in the win while adding five rebounds and four steals.
On the season Chiziane is averaging 15.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, three assists and 3.6 steals per game, while shooting 60% from the floor.
