Janiya Davis earns “Scottie Athlete of the Week” honors after helping the #3 Highland Women’s basketball team open KJCCC play with a 72-70 win over Labette. Scotties moved to 17-1 on the season with the win.

Davis posted her first career double-double in college in the win with 23 points and 12 rebounds and went 6-15 from the floor and 10-10 from the free throw line. She added two assists, two steals and three blocks to finish out her stat line.

On the season Davis is averaging a team best 17.1 points per game, while shooting 53.2% from the floor and 79.8% from the free throw line. She is adding 5.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 2.4 steals per game to her stat line this season.
