Chevelle Sartin earns “Scottie Athlete of the Week” honors after putting on an offensive display last week that included six home runs in six games as Highland softball went 5-1 in action.
The freshman shortstop had herself a week for the Highland softball team as she opened the week with a 3-4 performance with a home run, two RBI’s and three runs scored in a 12-4 win over Labette. He big output came in the final games of the week on Sunday at Allen County were she was 3-3 with two home runs, seven RBI’s, a double and three runs scored in Game one of the doubleheader and followed that with a 3-4 showing with five RBI’s, two home runs, a double and two runs scored.
Overall in the six games last week Sartin was 14-22 good for a .636 batting average with 17 RBI’s, 11 run scored, three doubles, six home runs, two stolen bases and two walks.
On the season Sartin is batting .506 and leads the team in hits with 42 and runs scored with 40, while she also leads the team in doubles and home runs with eight of each. She’s added 28 RBI’s and has a total of 19 extra base hits.
