Williams McCall earns “Scottie Athlete of the Week” after a strong performance on defense for Highland football in a tough 37-7 loss at home against Garden City.

McCall was one of two Scotties to record double digit tackles on the day as the freshman tallied 10 tackles and had an interception also in the contest. The 10 tackles marks the first time in his college career he recorded double figure tackles.

The freshman has stepped in from the start of the season and made an impact playing at safety and is the second leading tackler on the team with 54 tackles, averaging 7.7 tackles per game. He’s added 3.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, a blocked kick and four pass breakups.
