Riana Lawson earns “Scottie Athlete of the Week” as she helped the Highland women’s basketball team improve to 10-0 on the season with a pair of wins last week.

Lawson continued her strong play for the Scotties after transferring to Highland this year. The sophomore opened the week notched 11 points on 4-9 shooting in the win over Missouri Valley JV adding four rebounds, one assist and one steal. She followed that up by matching her career high posting 22 points on 8-15 shooting including 5-9 from three-point range in the win over McPherson JV. Lawson added three rebounds, an assist and five steals in the contest.

On the season Lawson is averaging 12.2 points per game on 53.8% shooting from the field and 34.8% from three-point range. She’s adding 2.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.2 steals per game.
