Demi Bartonek, a 5’5 sophomore defensive specialist from Olmitz, Kansas, was awarded Scottie Athlete of the Week for her best performance of her career against now #6 ranked Indian Hills Community College. Demi excelled in her role as libero and came up with career high 17 digs. Against #9 ranked Kirkwood CC, Demi picked up 5 digs in the 4 set match.

Coach Jon Bingesser expressed his thoughts on Demi’s weekend play, “I thought she was great. It was nice to see her take control of the back row the way she did, especially against Indian Hills. She picked up a lot of tough balls that allowed us to counter their aggressive swings with strong swings of our own.”

The Scotties are 19-11 overall and 5-3 in the conference. They travel down to Hesston, Kansas to take on the Larks at 6:30pm on Wednesday, October 19^th.
