Mariane Carvalho earns her first Scottie 'Athlete of the Week' award after dropping 30 points in her first collegiate and game as a Scottie.

Mariane, the freshmen guard/forward from Araraquara, Brazil, helped lead the Scotties to a 126-49 victory over William Penn University JV in their first game of the 2016-2017 season. 

Mariane scored 30 points going 4-9 from three and 5-5 form the free throw line. She pulled down two rebounds, had three assists and one steal. Mariane was just one of six Scotties to score in double figures on the night.

The Scotties will play this Friday and Saturday in Iola, KS at the Allen Community College Tournament. They take on Northeastern Oklahoma A&M at 1:00pm on Friday and will play Redlands Community College on Saturday at 1:00pm.
