Dey’Chelle Claiborne earns her first Scottie ‘Athelte of the Week’ after scoring a career high in Tuesday night’s 109-72 victory over Iowa Western.
 
Claiborne posted a career high 16 points shooting 6-10 from the floor and 4-4 from the charity stripe helping to lift her team to their 15th win of the year. Claiborne also grabbed three rebounds had two assists and one steal. She set a season high in minutes played with 22.
 
Coach Smith commented, “Dey’Chelle is a very good player that can really guard. She doesn’t fill up a stat sheet with numbers because she does a lot of the little things that don’t go onto a stat sheet. She has been a big key to our success this season. She can really shoot the ball well and that showed last night.”
