The Highland Scottie Volleyball team started off the morning with a 3 set win over Southwestern Community College. They made quick work of the Spartans as the scores were 25-19, 25-10, 25-16. The team improved their record to 5-3 after winning two games yesterday against Ellsworth Community College and Barton Community College.
Tyrecia Lukes, Leslie Polanco, and Shailey Caudle led the offense in kills hitting 9, 8, and 9 kills each while Jessica Luscombe and Megan Rhule added 4 apiece. The team total attack percentage proved lack of error as they hit .237. Josie Vitosh and Rhule totaled 37 assists. Defensively the digs were straight across the board with Vitosh leading the way with 10 while Polanco, Caudle, and Rhule totaled 9, 9, and 8 each. Lukes proved her blocking skills again with 4 while Luscombe and Rhule added to the mix to make 7 total blocks.
Coach Bingesser had a positive outlook on the game; "We did a good job of taking care of business when we needed too, finding our opportunity to eliminate errors and generate our offense. We look forward to finishing off this tournament with a win against Wentworth Academy."
The Scotties will play their last game in the HCC Invitational today at 1pm against Wentworth Academy.
