Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 The Highland Scottie volleyball team traveled to Chanute, KS to partake in the Panther Invitational on the campus of Neosho Community College on Friday and Saturday, September 29th and 30th.

Head volleyball coach Jon Bingesser shared his thoughts after the team went 3-1 this weekend. "Overall I thought this weekend went very well. It was a fun tournament. We are playing good volleyball right now but I know as a team we still believe we can take our game to a higher level."  Highland had already seen all four teams they were scheduled to play. Southeast CC and Allen CC were the first two teams to be played by the Scotties on Friday and they were shown no mercy. Highland swept both teams 3-0.

The second day of the tournament posed a threat as the Scotties faced two teams who have both given Highland losses, Coffeyville CC and NEO. Highland started on a high against the Red Ravens taking the first set but were over taken to lose 1-3 "We played a great match against Coffeyville. We were able to make adjustments from the first time we played them and were successful because of it early. We just could not maintain that energy needed to finish the match," commented Coach Bingesser. NEO was their final match of the tournament topping off the weekend with another 3-0 win. "I was impressed with the way we rebounded against NEO. They fought back in the second match and we were able to hold them off and take the set 30-28. It was a much different swing from the first set winning 25-11 but we fought off two of their set points."

The team is now 19-5 overall and 4-1 in conference and look ahead to face #13 Fort Scott (16-6, 2-3) on Wednesday, October 4th in Fort Scott, KS at 6:30PM.
