LAWRENCE, Kan. - Taking advantage of great weather conditions and a well-groomed course at Haskell Indian Nations University, Highland delivered three sub-6:00/mi finishes at the Billy Mills Classic on Saturday. David Welchert and Cayden Crabtree each trimmed more than two minutes off their 8k collegiate debuts, while Jonathan Lynch was also under the six-minute pace in his Highland debut.

Welchert and Crabtree finished just five places apart in the middle of the field, with Welchert crossing the line 24th with a time of 27:09.1, followed by Crabtree in 28th with a mark of 28:06.2. Lynch posted a time of 29:26.5 in his collegiate debut, with Marcal Myles rounding out Highland's finishers with a time of 32:12.1.

The next meet on the schedule is the NJCAA Region 6 Championships, hosted by Colby Community College. The meet will be held Friday, Oct. 24, with the men's 8k starting at 10 a.m.
