COLUMBUS, Neb. - Opening a three-match road swing with two contests hosted by Central Community College, Highland (27-6) earned a split with a 3-0 (26-24, 25-14, 25-22) win over Northeast Community College (12-16), followed by a 3-0 (21-25, 15-25, 22-25) loss to Central (15-13) on Friday.
After a hard-fought win over Northeast, Highland found itself trailing 2-0 and 24-12 to the Raiders. The Scotties dug deep and staved off match point 10 straight times. Unfortunately, an attack by Central got Highland out of system and the Raiders were able to find a hole in the Scottie defense.
Highland takes on Metropolitan Community College - Kansas City on Wednesday night, with first serve set for 6 p.m.
