Alfonso Franklin earns “Scottie Athlete of the Week” after helping the Highland football team to a road 34-18 win over Coffeyville out of the bye week.

Franklin returned from injury and left his imprint on the contest finishing with 149 total yards in the win and three touchdowns. The freshman tailback ran for 94 yards on 12 carries with two touchdowns and caught two passes for 55 yards with another score. Franklin visited the endzone on seven and 32-yard runs and a 50-yard pass reception.

In three games this year Franklin has 186 yards rushing on 24 carries with two touchdowns and is averaging 7.8 yards per carry, while catching four passes for 75 yards and a score. His 7.8 yards per carry ranks fifth in the Nation and leads the KJCCC.
