Box Score 2 The Highland softball team hosted a double-header on Wednesday, April 12th against the current #1 team in the KJCCC East Cowley County Community College Tigers.
GAME 1
The first game of the day was a battle with
Julisa Ortega on the mound for the Scotties. The teams were both held from scoring until the third inning Highland's
Sydney Anderson hit a two RBI single to right field. The Tigers answered back in the fifth with two home runs scoring four total runs.
Maddy Miller hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning but the team could not come through and would be defeated 3-4.
GAME 2
The Scotties got hot in the second game to make a statement on their field holding the Tigers scoreless throughout the whole game with
Haley Donaldson on the mound. The fourth inning saw most of the action for the Scotties with a home run by Madison Miller scoring Hernandez.
Kenzie Garvin and Maddy Moore would each hit an RBI single, followed by
Sydney Anderson with a two RBI single to center field. Moran would end the game in five innings of play with a two RBI double to right center field closing out the Tigers 8-0.
The Highland softball team is now 28-8Â on the year and 12-4 in conference play. They will host a double-header against Allen County Community College on Tuesday, April 18th with the first game starting at 2:00PM.
