Box Score 2 GAME ONE
The Highland Scottie Softball team took on the Labette Cardinals in a double-header on Friday afternoon. The bats were hot for the Scotties as they hit a total of 11 home runs on the day; 6 in game one and five in game two.
Aubrey Hernandez had a day as she had six hits off eight at bats with five runs scored and twelve RBI's that afternoon with four of her at bats as home runs.
Sam Moran hit back-to-back home runs in her first two times at bat in game one. She had four RBI's, three at bats with three hits and three runs.
Maddie Moore had a home run in game one with three RBI's, and Kennadi Barron had a home run with one RBI and was your Scotties winning pitcher.
The Scotties beat the Cardinals 18-1 in game one of the double-header ending the game on a run rule after the bottom of the fifth inning.
GAME TWO
In game two on Friday afternoon the Scotties were off to a slow start as the Cards took the lead 3-0 after the first three innings. After six home runs in game one, their bats were still on fire as Hernandez, Kayla Ross, Sydney Anderson, and Sam Hill all took turns hitting bombs over the fences at Scottie Ballpark.
Anderson stood out as she had three hits off four at bats, scoring three runs and two RBI's.
Julisa Ortega was the Scotties winning pitcher and lead the team to a 9-3 victory and a sweep of the Cardinals.
The Highand softball team is now 20-6 and will take on the Coffeyville Ravens on Saturday, April 1st at Scottie Ballpark at 12:00 and 2:00.
