Quick Sweep Leads Scotties to Victory

Two quick wins on Saturday early afternoon lifted the Scotties to a sweep over the Coffeyville Red Ravens.

Game one started out in favor of the Scotties 3-2. The Red Ravens added a point in the top of the third but the Scotties took back the lead in the bottom of the fourth with Sam Moran hitting a two RBI double scoring Garvin and Moore. Kayla Ross added on two more RBI's that inning on a double extending the Scottie lead. In the bottom of the fifth, Highland would score five more runs to run rule the Ravens and take the first victory 12-3.

Game two started and ended just as quick with Highland Moran and Ross once again both hitting an RBI to take a quick 2-0 lead. The bottom of the second found the bases loaded, one scored off a walk, Anderson flied out on a sacrifice fly scoring Moore, Hernandez hitting an RBI extending the lead 5-0. Three more runs would lead the Scotties to a 8-0 win and sweep of the Red Ravens. And pitcher Haley Donaldson with the win.

Highland softball is now 22-6 on the year and 9-3 in conference play. Their next showing will be on Tuesday, April 4th at Chanute, KS against Neosho County Community College at 2:00 and 4:00PM.
