Highland Men Use Seven Double Figure Performances to Top Graceland University JV

The Scotties continue to drop buckets this season as the #3 Highland Men's basketball team used another strong shooting performance and seven double figure scorers to top Graceland University JV 112-65.

Highland tallied the first bucket of the ball game and never trailed in the contest as the Scotties over the first four minutes of the game worked to a 12-2 lead leading to a Graceland timeout. The Highland double figure lead evaporated as Graceland drained multiple three-pointers (15 in the game) to draw with two at 27-25 and then within one-point at 31-30 at the 6:30 mark in the first half. Scotties finished the first half strong as Highland outscored Graceland 23-7 over the final six and half minutes of the first half carry a 54-37 lead into halftime.

The Scotties despite Graceland draining a few more threes were able to extend their lead in the second half and surpass the century mark for the sixth time this season growing the lead to 82-47 with just under ten minutes remaining before securing the 112-65 win.

Strong shooting performances for Highland this season have been a regular occurrence and the Scotties for the second time this season shot over 60% as a team from the floor going 46-73 for 63% shooting, giving them their seventh straight game with over 50% shooting as a team. Scotties also dominated the boards in the win 46-19 and turned 18 Graceland turnovers into 25 points.

Individually the scoring was balanced yet again as seven guys finished with double figures including a career high 19 points on 8-10 shooting by Tristen Hull, while he added six rebounds, two steals, two assists and two blocks. Jaquan Daniels tallied 14 points and four rebounds in the win, as Amear Johnson and Rashon Johnson each posted 13 point showing each tying their career highs. DJ Doakes, Luiz Machado Jr and Taiveyhon Mason each chipped in 12, 11 and 10 points, respectively.
