The No. 4 Highland men's basketball team improved to 6-1 on their season with 86-56 victory over No. 13 Southeast Community College (NE) in the Ben Allen Field House.
The Scotties saw well-balanced scoring from the entire team last night with five players scoring in double figures. Freshman,
Norris Bourne led in scoring with a career-high of 17 points, shooting 6-13 from the field and 100 percent from the free-throw line. Season scoring leader,
Zyon Smith added 14 points to the Scotties' victory and sophomore
Kevin McGaskey (11 pts), sophomore
Dillon Delatte (10 pts) and freshman
Dallas Rufus (13 pts) rounded out the double-digit scorers for Highland.
After a few lead changes early in the game, the Scotties settled into a rhythm midway through the 1
st half and never looked back. Highland also received a quality effort from their bench as the reserves accounted for 39 points in the victory.
The Scotties will travel to Beatrice, NE on Tuesday, February 23 for a rematch against Southeast. They return home to Ben Allen Field House on Saturday, February 27 to tip-off conference play against Fort Scott at 3 p.m. All of the live-action can be found on the Scottie Sports Network!
