The Highland Community College Men's Basketball team opened KJCCC play with a tough loss on Saturday, falling to #10 Fort Scott 57-51.
The Scotties outpaced the Greyhounds in scoring for the majority of the first half, closing the half up by 9. The second half was a completely different story for the Scotties. After shooting 60.87 percent from the floor in the first half, the Scotties fell to 34.87 percent in the second half, going 8-23 from the floor. Fort Scott outscored Highland in the second half 32-17 to gain an important conference victory on the road.
Sophomore,
Zyon Smith led all scorers in the contest with 19 points, shooting 8-15 from the field. Fort Scott's leading scorer, Freddy Reeves Jr, came off the bench to score 17 on the night.
