COLBY, Kan. - On the strength of a pair of solid performances to open the 2025 calendar year,
Rashad Kee was named the Division 2 KJCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week. The Amityville, N.Y., sophomore was strong off the bench for Highland in a road upset of #18 St. Louis Community College on Wednesday and led the Scotties to a huge conference-opening win over Hesston College on Saturday.
Against the Larks, Kee was rock solid from the floor, connecting on 10 of his 12 field goal attempts and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line. He added two assists and two steals to go along with five rebounds in his 28 minutes on the court Saturday. Playing more of a supporting role against the Archers last Wednesday, he contributed nine points and two rebounds, but his 5-of-6 free-throw shooting was critical for the win as he was part of a string of six consecutive makes over the final 2:01 to preserve the win for HCC.
This is the first weekly accolade for the Northeast Oklahoma A&M transfer, and the second overall for Highland on the 2024-25 season. Kee joins
