HIGHLAND, Kan. - Following a solid career at the University of Idaho,
Dante Cox was introduced as head coach for Highland Community College's track and field and cross country programs today.
A four-year letterwinner for the Vandals, Cox spent time under the tutelage of Olympic coach Tom Cawley. He finished fifth in the 2025 Big Sky Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship in high jump, with his mark of 2.04m good for sixth in the Idaho record books.
While training and competing for the Vandals during his final season of competition, Cox also served as Strength and Conditioning Coach and Nutrition Assistant. Additionally, he was an assistant coach for Moscow High School, helping sophomore Mattea Nuhn earn the 2025 Idaho Class 5A/6A State championship.
A native of Smithville, Mo., Cox earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science from the University of Idaho in May 2025. He assumed his duties on December 1st.
