COFFEYVILLE, Kan. - Battling windy conditions to open the outdoor portion of the 2026 schedule, Highland Track and Field traveled to Coffeyville, Kan., for the Dean Pryor Invitational on Thursday. The Scotties collected a handful of top-ten finishes in the season opener, with Jonathan Lynch and Orlando Douglas each finishing just off the podium with fourth place efforts. Lynch posted the fastest community college time in the 200 meters with a mark of 2:02.72.

Anjanique Cheltenham and Ze'Ja Lee claimed two of Highland's top-ten finishes, placing sixth and ninth respectively in the 200 meters. Lee added a ninth place finish in the 400 meters as well, with H'Leigha Idol bringing home 10th in the shot put with a PR of 10.19 meters.

Next up for the Scotties is the Emporia State Spring Open on Friday, March 27.
