ROCKFORD, Ill. - Making its first-ever appearance at the NJCAA Opening Weekend Tournament presented by Sports Recruits, Highland offered up a strong introduction to the national stage with four straight 3-0 sweeps.
Cali Honeyman led the Scottie offense with 40 kills on the weekend, with
Jaala Stewart highlighting a dominant service game for the Scotties with 10 of HCC's 24 total aces.
The Scotties were solid defensively as well, holding their opponents to a .104 hitting percentage and recording 14 total blocks (2 solo, 12 assists) across four matches.
Highland returns home for a brief respite before a nine-match road swing, hosting Missouri Valley College in its home opener. First serve in Ben Allen Field House is set for 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 27.
