HIGHLAND, Kan. - Shamiah Johnson led Highland (3-5, 0-1 KJCCC) with 12 points, but it wasn't enough for the Scotties to overcome a more-experienced Johnson County Community College (19-0, 1-0 KJCCC) squad on Wednesday night.
Despite the depth of Johnson County's roster, Highland fought valiantly through the first three quarters, holding the Cavaliers below 40-percent shooting. In the fourth quarter, however, the Scotties weren't able to contain the depth of Johnson County's roster.
Highland opens a three-game road trip on Saturday, traveling to Moberly Area Community College. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
