Jared Jones enters his third season on the Scottie Baseball Staff, in July 2022, Coach Jones was elevated to the position of Hitting Coach and Director of Player Development. His main responsibilities are coaching the hitters, outfielders, coordinating the strength and conditioning program and coaching third base, outfielders, and infielder on game days for the Scotties.
Coach Jones comes to Highland after completing his playing career at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota.
He has a familiarity with the Jayhawk conference, having spent time at both Independence Community College and Pratt Community College as a player before transferring to Central Christian College in McPherson, KS and ultimately completing his playing career at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD after taking advantage of the COVID-19 waiver offered by the NAIA following the shortened 2020 season.
Jared has spent the summers of 2021 and 2022 coaching in the Cornbelt Summer Collegiate League in Omaha, Nebraska and is originally from Edmond, Oklahoma. He has a Bachelors degree in physical education from Central Christian College and a Masters Degree in Educational Policy from Dakota Wesleyan University.
