Austin Roberts

Austin Roberts enters his second season at Highland Community College as he coaches the defensive line for the Scottie football program. 

Roberts joined the Highland football program starting in 2018 when he coached the linebackers before transitioning to the defensive line. He coached two of the top three tacklers in the KJCCC in Reco Hannah and Donnell Lowery at linebacker in his first season with Highland. 

Prior to joining Highland Roberts had a strong college football playing career which started at the JUCO level in 2013 as he played at East Mississippi his freshman year and won an NJCAA National Championship. Roberts transferred to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M for his sophomore year in 2014 where he recorded 40 tackles and four sacks. He then transferred to the University of Oklahoma where he played the 2015 and 2016 seasons helping the Sooners to the College Football Playoffs and helping OU win the Sugar Bowl. He played in 17 games at OU including starting 10 games his senior year where he recorded 40 tackles and 1.5 sacks. 

The Warner Robbins, Georgia native Roberts earned his Bachelor's of Art in African Cultural Relations from the University of Oklahoma.
