Kory Vaught enters is third season at Highland Community College and transition to the defensive side of the ball coaching the linebackers for the Scottie football program, while also serving as the teams recruiting coordinator and works with special teams. 

Vaught joined the Scotties in 2017 coming on as runningback coach a position he coached for his first two seasons with Highland. Prior to his time as a coach at Highland Vaught coached for four seasons (2013-2016) at Fort Scott Community College where he coached runningbacks and tight ends, along with special teams. In the spring of 2017 Vaught served as offensive line coach with the Arizona Rattlers of the IFL and was a scout for the team, also. He also coached at his alma mater Friends University serving as an Assistant Wide Receiver coach and Scout Team Offensive Coordinator. 

During his coaching tenure Vaught ahs coached four NCAA Division I runningbacks, Harry Trotter (Kansas State), Johnnie Hankins (Tarleton State), Eugene Betha (Southeastern Louisiana) and Kevin Brown (Incarnate Word), while also coaching two Division I tight ends, Walker Evans (Missouri State) and Zach Gougler (Central Arkansas). 

Vaught during his playing career played wide receiver at Rock Valley Community College and then transferred to Friends University to finish his playing career. 

The Winnebago, Illinois native Vaught earned his Bachelor degree of Sciene from Friends University.
