Kyler Reed is in his fourth season at Highland Community College serving as the wide receivers and tight ends coach for the Scottie football team along with being in charge of the strength and conditioning.
Reed joined the Highland staff in 2016 and helped the Scotties to a 7-4 record that season the most wins in over 20 years for the program. During his time at Highland he has worked with multiple players that have moved on to four-year schools including NCAA Division I programs, including working with Marquis Terry the KJCCC Player of the Year and a NJCAA All-American in 2016.
Prior to Highland, Reed played tight end at the University of Nebraska from 2008-2012 including setting a Nebraska single season record for tight ends catching eight touchdowns during the 2010 season. During his time as a Cornhusker Reed earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors (2012), was named to Nebraska Scholar-Athlete honor roll (2012), was a member of the 2008 Big 12 Commissioner's Fall honor roll and part of the Brook Berringer Citizenship Team for community outreach (2010 & 2012).
After his time at Nebraska Reed had a brief stint in the NFL with Jacksonville Jaguars, and had tryouts with New England and Carolina, while also spending a season in the IFL.
Reed got his coaching career under way at the high school level coaching at Lincoln Christian in Lincoln, Nebraska and also coaching at Olathe East in Olathe, Kansas prior to joining the Highland coaching staff.
The Kansas City, Kansas native Reed has his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska.
