Entering her first year as an assistant coach, the Indianapolis, Indiana native played her collegiate ball at Dodge City CC in the Jayhawk conference and finished up at Indiana University Kokomo with 6th man of the year. In high school at Arlington she was a 4 year starter ranking 4th in the nation on steals and 7th in the nation on scoring.
Fitts was inducted into the 1,000 points club and broke the record for average point per game with 26.5 a game, the most ever averaged by any athlete in Arlington history. Fitts earned her bachelors degree in general studies at Dodge City Community college and earned her bachelors degree at Indiana University Kokomo in Sports Recreational Management.
