Krishna Baker came to HCC fall of 2023, taking the role of Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. Before coming to Highland, in 2022 Baker was teaching 2nd elementary and volunteering at Mills Middle School with volleyball and Basketball girls teams.
Being a 4 sport player, Baker earned many honors and scholarships offers. In 2004 Baker went to UAFS, as a freshman she helped her team win conference championships and later placed 3rd at nationals. Sophomore year Baker helped lead her team as a starter to conference champs and 7th placed at Nationals. After JuCo, Baker transferred to ATU in Russellville to stay close to her daughter who was back home and became All-Conference and An All-American nominee 2 years running.
After school Baker moved back home and started coaching little league basketball and softball teams. Baker continued this for many years until she went back to school in 2018 and received her B.S. in University Studies from University of Arkansas in 2020.
Coach Baker has 5 children 4 girls Kyriana 19, Kershauna 14, Kamiya 13, Karlisha 8 and one son Khalil 1.
