Coach Saundra Proctor begins her second year as Head Coach for Highland Community College Women’s Basketball team for the 2024-25 season. During her first season with the Scotties, Coach Proctor led the Women’s Basketball program to #19 in the nation and a 17-14 finish following a conference Semifinals loss to Johnson County Community College. The Scotties have all freshman returning from last year’s team, including Second Team All-Conference forward Cameron McNamara and Honorable Mention guard Jalasia Hull.

Coach Proctor began her coaching journey in 2014 after a successful playing career with Northeastern Junior College ('08) and Shaw University ('11) women's basketball programs a few years prior. Starting as a volunteer assistant at Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, PA, Saundra's first season ended with a 11-11 record. That summer, Coach Proctor was moved from volunteer assistant to a paid position and afforded the opportunity to develop the offseason strength and conditioning program that the Harrisburg Lady Cougars would use for the next few years.

Coach Proctor also began coaching under Central Pennsylvania Elite in 2015, run by parents of University of Maryland and WNBA star Alyssa Thomas. During Coach Proctor's first season coaching AAU, she had six rising seniors, all 6 of whom would go on to college, 5 of them competing at the college level from Robert Morris University, Messiah College, Elizabethtown College, Shippensburg University, and Penn State University Harrisburg.

The next season at Harrisburg High School, the Lady Cougars posted a record of 20-6 and continued with that success over the next 2 years with records of 20-5 in the 2016-17 season while being the runner up in the District 3- 5A championship. The following year, the Lady Cougars posted a 28-4 record along with a Conference, Regional and District 3-5A Championship. The team was knocked out of the state playoffs in the quarterfinals.

Through continued success with the high school program, Coach Proctor and the rest of the Harrisburg staff were able to build connections with coaches to assist in recruiting athletes and helping build our young ladies and help them become productive young women and young athletes. While being at Harrisburg High, Coach Proctor's players were able to secure offers from schools like Providence College, Rider University, Delaware State University, Wagner University, Lackawanna Community College, Mansfield University, Shippensburg University, Millersville University, along with a host of others.

Upon returning to Denver, Coach Proctor became assistant coach for Overland High School and Head Coach for Force Basketball AAU's inaugural season. In September of 2021, Coach Proctor began her college coaching journey with Colby Community College in Colby, KS. Coach Proctor returned to her alma mater Northeastern Junior College in January of 2023 to fill the role of Assistant Coach, coaching under Dave Huss, who was her Assistant Coach during her time at NJC.

Originally from Denver, CO, Coach Proctor was a graduate of Denver East High School and was ranked in DPL in scoring and rebounds. Coach Proctor was also a member of the 2006-2007 NJC Plainswomen team that went 25-7. After graduating from NJC with her Associates degree in Criminal Justice/Psychology, Coach Proctor moved on to Shaw University, who were ranked #19 in the nation during the 2009-2010 season. Coach Proctor graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology in 2011.

Coach Proctor was hired in July of 2023 as Head Women's Basketball Coach of Highland Community College and will began that August. Coach Proctor has 11-year-old twin daughters, Kendall & Kennedy.
