Kelvin Kipkemboi earns "Scottie Athlete of the Week" honors after a strong start to his cross country running career at Highland to open the season at the Augie Twilight.

In the first competition of the season Kipkemboi posted a time of 22:26.17 in a 7K race and finished 19^th overall out of 266 runners a group that included several Division I and II runners. His time was the best mark by a NJCAA in action beating all other NJCAA runners in the race by 34 seconds. The freshman helped the Scotties Men’s Cross Country team place 14^th out of 23 teams overall, 10^th in the College Division and beat all NJCAA schools head-to-head in the race.
