Jason Gonzalez earns “Scottie Athlete of the Week” after helping the Highland baseball team pick up three wins last week.

Gonzalez put together a strong series against Baker JV as the Scotties won three of the four games. In series opener against Baker JV Gonzalez helped lead a 15-hit attack for the Scotties as the freshman was 2-3 with a double, three runs scored, three RBI’s and a walk. He followed that up at Baker by scoring the tying run for the Scotties late in game two and helped the Scotties earn the win by going 1-1 with a run scored, three RBI’s and three walks.

The series moved to Highland and Gonzalez continued his strong performances at the plate going 1-2 with three runs scored, an RBI and two walks in a game one win for Highland.

On the season Gonzalez is batting .177 with 14 hits, 16 runs scored and 12 RBI’s. He has drawn a team high 22 walks.
