The HCC women's basketball team traveled to Marshall, Missouri to take on the JV team of Missouri Valley College for a second meeting. The Scotties had no issue yet again and came out on top 90-36.
Sophomore
Szonja Vukov finished the game with a double-double, 17 points and 14 total rebounds. She dished out 4 assists, 6 steals, and 1 blocked shot.
Mariane Carvalho had another double digit scoring this game with 21, with 8 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists.
Tiana Cook came off the bench and put up 12 points for the Scotties, and
Niccolly Viscardi contributed 7 points in her first game of her season.
Shaiann Tramble put up 10 points and had 5 steals and 4 assists throughout the game.
As a team, the Scotties forced the Vikings to 41 turnovers and kept their own to 12. 22 assists went in favor of the Scotties and the Vikings only grabbed 27 rebounds to HCC's 44. Highland held the Vikings to scoring only 10 total points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters combined.
The HCC Scottie Classic will be the next outing for the women's team, which is on November 17th and 18th in Ben Allen Field House. You can find the link to the tournament schedule below.
