The Highland Community College Scottie women's basketball team played Redlands Community College, El Reno, Oklahoma, in their last game of the Allen Tournament in Iola, Kansas. The game ended in favor of the Scotties 72-62.
Mariane Carvalho came out on top of the the scoring leaderboard with 24 points, 5 steals and 3 rebounds. Sophomores Szonja Vukov and Shaiann Tramble each had 12 points on the game. Tramble lead in rebounds with 8 total and contributed 6 assists. Vukov grabbed 7 rebounds and Ashlyn McDonald wasn't far behind with 5 of her own. The team shot 81.8% from the free throw line.
HCC is now 3-0 early this 2016-17 season and will play at Oskaloosa, Iowa against William Penn University JV on Monday, November 7, at 6:30pm.
