A poor shooting performance was wiped away after Highland found a way to get it done in the final five minutes of last night's 76-69 grinder at Hesston College.

Trailing by one point with 3:44 left on the clock, freshman point-guard
Ryan Haskins knocked down a three to give Highland a two-point lead, their first lead since the 10-minute mark of the second half. Freshman
Stephon Jackson knocked down a jumper and a three-point shot to give the Scotties a seven-point lead with :46 seconds left in the game. A few free-throws and two knocked down desperation threes from Hesston would finish the game with Highland on top, 76-69.

Ryan Haskins led the Scotties in scoring with 17 points and six rebounds. Haskins went 4-8 from behind the arc and 5-6 form the charity stripe.
Jaquan Daniels scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds while
Dontre English and
Stephon Jackson each scored 12 and 10 respectably.

Hesston shot the ball well from behind the arc knocking down 11 three-pointers at 44%. Highland was able to win both the rebound battle, 42-30, and turnover margin 7-14 while picking up 11 steals from the Larks.

The Scotties are now 13-4 overall and receiving votes in the most recent NJCAA Division II poll. They will play host to Johnson County, a re-scheduled game from winter storm Jupiter, on Monday, January 23
rd at 7:30pm in Ben Allen Field House.
