Damarion Williams Earns NJCAA "Defensive Player of Week" Honors

The honors continue to roll in for Highland sophomore defensive back, Damarion Williams has earlier this week he picked up his second KJCCC "Defensive Player of the Week" honors and now he becomes the first Scottie athlete this school year to win NJCAA National "Player of the Week" honors. 

Williams gets the nod for NJCAA "Defensive Player of the Week" honors fresh off his record setting performance of four interceptions in the 47-38 win over Coffeyville in Overtime last Saturday, breaking a single game school record for picks while helping the team break a team single game school record with six interceptions in the win. Williams's final pick was in Overtime to seal the win for Highland and he put an exclamation point on the game as he returned the interception in Overtime for a touchdown. He has doubled his interception total from last year with six this season and leads the KJCCC and the Nation. On the season along with his six interceptions he has 15 tackles and 10 pass breakups.

The sophomore also picked up his first offers for the next level this week also getting offers from New Mexico and Incarnate Word. 

Highland continues their season this Saturday when they travel to Fort Dodge, Iowa to take on Iowa Central (2-2) with a 12:
00pm kickoff.
