Highland athletics has enjoyed plenty of success in all sports over the years and off the field, court, etc. those athletes need support, and the Athletic department looks to provide that and has recently added to the athletic training staff to continue to improve the student-athlete experience.
Tara Collings joins the Highland athletic training staff taking on a role of Assistant Athletic trainer joining Head Athletic Trainer,
Tia Collins, and Assistant Trainer,
Sydney Markt to give the athletic training staff three full-time trainers overseeing 11 Scottie athletic programs.
Collings brings a strong education and prior experience at multiple levels, with her to the position at Highland. The Newtown, Missouri native earned her Bachelor's degree from Central Methodist University in Athletic Training while then earning her Master's degree from A.T. Still University in Kinesiology/Sports Conditioning. Her athletic training career started in Tyler, Texas as she served as a trainer for Texas Spine and Joint Outreach for the All Saints Episcopal School. She spent last year at Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri working as the athletic department Head Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach.
"I am excited to work closely with other athletic trainers and to be part of a strong sports medicine team," said Collings about joining the Highland staff.
