The Highland Scotties dropped their sixth straight game on Saturday, losing 41-0 to the visiting Iowa Central Tritons in a non-conference matchup.
The Scotties were dominated from the beginning of the game by the #10 ranked Tritons and were never even able to find the endzone in the contest. Iowa Central amassed 473 yards of total offense, while Highland could only muster 125 yards. The Tritons surpassed the Scotties by a wide margin in the passing game too, with Iowa Central recording 270 yards through the air compared to Highland's 33 yards using 3 different quarterbacks.
One of the lone bright spots offensively for the Scotties was Olathe native
Andrew Nehrbass rushing for 56 yards on 8 carries and a 20-yard run that proved to be Highland's longest offensive play of the day.
Highland's
Warren Peeples continues to lead the nation in QB Sacks (9.5), finishing the day with 10 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a tackle for loss against Iowa Central.
The Scotties travel to Dodge City this Saturday, October 30, for the final KJCCC regular season matchup of the year. Kickoff is scheduled for 1pm and viewing links re posted on the football schedule page at www.scottieathletics.com.
