Hutchinson, KS – On October 28, the Highland Community College Cross Country team competed in the 2022 NJCAA Region VI XC championship in Hutchinson. The meet was hosted by Hutchinson Community College.

The conditions were perfect, and the competition is in one of the best regions in the nation. The Scotties raced well showing progress in strategy and aggression. All four men ran an average of nearly two minutes faster than when they started this season. The runners were led by Tyrese Bishop and Samuel Pyle.

Highland's Head Track and Field and Cross Country Coach Kathleen Graham said, "The team improved in racing strategy and performance. They improved on their initial performance so well that they almost seemed like different people! They are creating a culture that will help Scotties for years to come." 

Tyrese Bishop and Samuel Pyle will both be representing Highland Community College at the upcoming National Meet in Tallahassee, Florida on Nov 12.
