Tavian Tate Named KJCCC Player of the Week

COLBY, Kan. - After helping the Scotties force overtime against no. 11 North Central Missouri College and bounce back with a 95-74 rout of Jefferson College, Tavian Tate was named the KJCCC Division 2 Men's Basketball Player of the Week. It is the first career selection for the Kansas City, Mo., sophomore.

Tate played the entire contest against North Central Missouri, leading Highland with 18 points as the Scotties closed an 18-point second-half deficit to force overtime against the Pirates. On Saturday, he followed up with a 23-point outburst, leading all scorers as Highland dominated Jefferson College to close out the 2025 calendar.

He was selected for the honor in voting among a committee of athletics communication professionals in the conference.
