LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. - As the first squad to open the 2025 season, Highland (0-0-1) women's soccer made a strong impression, earning a 0-0 draw against Metropolitan Community College - KC (0-0-1) on Thursday.

Coming into the match, MCCKC promised to be a formidable test for the Scotties, having finished the 2024 season with a 14-2 record as one of the highest-scoring offenses in the NJCAA with 40 goals.

Highland was up to the task and then some, holding the Wolves at bay for 90 minutes and generating several solid offensive chances of its own.

McKenna Glade recorded seven saves in her collegiate debut, earning her first career shutout.

Highland continues its packed start to the season on Saturday, hosting State Fair Community College at the Highland Track and Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
